The four decisions buyers make before a container

Which lighting line to stock, whether aftermarket panels are good enough, steel or plastic fenders, and whether the order ships LCL or FCL. Each page is a side-by-side table with the cost and lead-time reality underneath.

Four comparisons, four real purchase decisions

Written from the factory floor and the quotation desk. Prices are indicative catalogue bands and lead times are planning estimates — both are confirmed on your quote.

Lighting 01 · Halogen vs LED

LED vs halogen headlights for trucks and pickups

Output, power draw, lifespan, price bands and fitment — and which lighting line to stock for repair versus retail demand.

Verdict · Halogen wins on landed cost and OE-style repair demand. LED wins on light output, modern styling and retail margin. Most distributors should stock both, not choose once.

Body panels 02 · OEM / dealer part vs Aftermarket (Dongzhan)

OEM vs aftermarket body parts: fit, finish and price

What the labels mean, where fit and finish really differ, how to inspect a sample panel and how to compare landed cost with the dealer price.

Verdict · A good aftermarket panel is a valid repair part when the material, primer, tooling and fitment are controlled. The label matters less than the evidence: steel grade, E-coat, panel-gap checks and a sample fitted to a real truck.

Materials 03 · Steel fender vs Plastic fender / flare

Steel vs plastic fenders: repair economics for pickups

Repair material versus styling part: repair method, corrosion, paint, freight cost and which one to stock for body shops versus accessory retail.

Verdict · Steel is the repair material — paint it, align it, replace it in a collision. Plastic is the styling and trim material — flares, covers and trims that change the look. For a body-shop account, steel is the volume part; for a styling shop, plastic is the margin part.

Freight 04 · LCL vs FCL

LCL vs FCL shipping for auto parts buyers

The W/M rule, crossover volume, transit and damage trade-offs, destination fees and a practical rule for moving from shared to full container.

Verdict · Roughly under 8–10 CBM, LCL is usually the right call for a first or trial order. Above 12–15 CBM, a 20ft FCL is normally cheaper per CBM and safer for fragile lamps. The crossover is route-dependent; ask for both on the same order.

How to use this library

A comparison is not a recommendation

Each page explains the trade-off and the conditions under which one option wins. The right choice depends on your customer base, your market's rules and your working capital — not on which column looks better.

Read this first

Figures on these pages are indicative catalogue bands and planning estimates, not offers. Certification, customs and legal requirements are market-specific and change — confirm every one with your broker or the relevant authority before you book production.

  1. 01 · Know the job

    Repair or restyle?

A fleet repair and a retail upgrade want different products, different price points and different evidence.

  2. 02 · Confirm fitment

    Generation beats year

Every comparison here assumes the correct generation and handedness. Verify with the fitment guide before you compare prices.

  3. 03 · Compare landed

    Unit price is not cost

Add freight, duty, destination fees, paint and labour before deciding. A cheaper part can be the more expensive repair.

  4. 04 · Sample first

    Test before depth

Fit a sample to a real vehicle and photograph the result. It is the cheapest insurance in the transaction.

Questions

Comparison FAQ

How the comparisons are built, what is a quotation and what is an estimate, and how to order two options together.

Ask on your part list
How are these comparisons put together?

From our own catalogue data, production experience and the questions distributors ask us most. Prices are indicative catalogue bands and lead times are planning estimates — both are labelled on the page and confirmed on a quotation. Nothing here is a regulatory ruling; confirm certification and customs requirements with your broker.

Can I order both options in one container?

Yes on most of these comparisons. Halogen and LED lamps, primed and painted panels, steel panels and plastic flares can usually be mixed in one order or one container; MOQ is per SKU. The container plan is built from measured carton sizes at quotation.

Are the prices on these pages quotations?

No. They are indicative catalogue bands shown to explain the shape of the cost difference. The quotation carries the exact SKU, quantity, market configuration, incoterm and validity date.

Do you provide samples for comparison?

Yes — free sample evaluation is available for qualified buyers, with freight credited against the first order. It is the cheapest way to compare a halogen and an LED assembly, or a primed panel against the vehicle, before you commit to a container.
