Fitment first

Which D-Max headlight fits your truck?

The D-Max has been re-platformed and facelifted repeatedly, and the headlamp is one of the first parts to change shape. A year range on a supplier page is not enough: the RG01 headlamp introduced with the 2020 truck does not fit a 2019 vehicle, and the 2017–2019 facelift differs from the 2012–2016 original even though both are often listed as “RT”.

Send us the generation code, build month and a front three-quarter photo. That is usually enough to confirm the SKU against the mould data before anything is produced or packed.

  • LHD and RHD trucks use handed beam patterns — tell us the destination market, not just the vehicle.
  • V-Cross and other trim packages can change the grille and bumper around the lamp; the lamp itself follows the generation.
  • Build month matters: facelift production overlaps model years in several markets.
  • A VIN or the local registration document code removes almost all ambiguity.

The most common D-Max ordering error

A 2019 truck fitted with a 2020 (RG01) lamp, or the reverse. The two front ends look similar in a thumbnail but the mounting points and connectors are different. When the year is close to the changeover, ask for the VIN.

Line-up

LED or halogen: which line should you stock?

Both lines are built to the same OE mounting points and connector plugs, so the choice is commercial, not technical. The LED assembly is the retail and styling line: integrated DRL, projector low beam and optional sequential indicator, from $78 per pair at 20 pairs. The halogen assembly targets fleet, insurance and value markets at $42 per pair with replaceable bulbs and E-MARK-documented low and high beam.

Most distributors carry both. A workshop that repairs work trucks needs a lamp it can sell at a fleet price; a retail shop wants the lighting upgrade that makes a used pickup look current. The same container can hold the two lines without any packing difference.

  • Both lines are sealed and tested for water ingress; the LED housing uses a breathable membrane to stop fogging in humid markets.
  • E-MARK approval is attached per lamp family and variant — LED and halogen approvals are separate.
  • For US road use, FMVSS 108 applies instead of E-MARK; confirm the compliance route with your importer before listing.
  • LED failure is covered by a two-year warranty against LED failure on the LED range.

Compliance

What E-MARK actually covers on a D-Max headlight

E-MARK is European type approval for the lighting function, not a factory certificate and not a fitment guarantee. The approval references a specific UNECE regulation — commonly R148 for signalling devices and R149 for road illumination — a light source and a part type. Our D-Max lamp families are covered under E4 (Netherlands) and E11 (UK) approvals, with the exact scope supplied per SKU before an order is confirmed.

For a distributor the practical workflow is simple: ask for the certificate copy and a photo of the lens marking from the production batch, then check that the approval number, the light source and the handedness match what you are ordering. If a SKU falls outside the scope, we say so rather than applying the mark generically.

  • Certificate copy and lens-marking photo per lamp SKU
  • Regulation and amendment stated on the certificate
  • E4 / E11 approval holder and manufacturer named
  • Photometric report and product data sheet for conformity files

E-MARK does not travel everywhere

It is useful evidence for EU/EEA type approval and for Gulf conformity files, but it is not FMVSS 108 for the US, not SABER for Saudi Arabia, and not EAC for the Eurasian Union. Each market needs its own conformity route — the factory supplies the technical file, the importer raises the certificate.

Attach rate

The small parts that move with every headlight order

Headlight damage rarely arrives alone. Corner lamps, side marker lamps and fog lamps are the high-turnover parts that body shops order at the same time, and they are cheap to add to the carton. Two OEM cross-references worth keeping in your catalogue: the 2020 corner light, OEM 8983933613 (RH) and 8983933623 (LH), and the 2019–2022 side marker lamp, OEM 8983950310.

These parts lift the average value of a mixed order without adding container complexity — the cartons are small, the MOQs are carton multiples, and they sell through the repair counter faster than any single lamp SKU.

  • OEM cross-references are captured from the reference listings and must be verified per VIN before ordering.
  • Corner and side lamps are carton-packed (50–200 pcs per carton), which sets the MOQ.
  • Lens yellowing on older trucks is a retail opportunity: pair a lamp replacement with a chrome or mirror upgrade.

Ordering and shipping

MOQ, packing and container planning

Stock headlights ship from 20 pairs per SKU, 7–15 days after order confirmation. Each pair is packed in a foam-lined export carton of roughly 0.09–0.12 CBM and 5.8–6.4 kg, so a mixed 20ft with 6–10 SKUs — lamps, mirrors, bumpers and trim — usually lands around 21–27 CBM without overloading the container.

We quote FOB, CIF and DDP side by side so you can compare against your own broker. DDP lanes exist for most Gulf, African, Latin American and Southeast Asian destinations, with SABER, PVoC or SONCAP documentation support prepared during production rather than after it.

  • 20-pair carton multiples; 1 pair per foam-lined carton, side-marked LH/RH
  • Mixed containers welcome: lamps travel on the top layer, steel and bumpers on the floor
  • Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, CCPIT certificate of origin as standard
  • Conformity file per SKU (test reports, data sheets, photos, HS codes) for your approved body
  • Sample evaluation on a real vehicle before a container — freight credited against the first order

Questions

Isuzu D-Max headlight — FAQ

The questions buyers ask before ordering. If yours is not here, send it with the part list — you get a named contact, a quote and the certificate scope, not a form letter.

Which D-Max headlight fits my 2021 Isuzu D-Max?

The 2020–2023 D-Max is the RG01 generation and takes the RG01 headlamp family — either the LED assembly or the halogen assembly, both plug-and-play for that front end. A 2019 or older truck is the RT generation and needs the RT lamp. Send the VIN or build month if the truck is close to the changeover; the two front ends are different and the lamps do not interchange.

Are your D-Max headlights plug-and-play?

Yes for the stock LED and halogen assemblies: they use the OE connector plugs and mounting points for the listed generation, with no wiring modification required. If the vehicle was previously fitted with an aftermarket lamp or a repair harness, send a photo of the connector and pin count so we can confirm before you order. Can-bus vehicles can still show a bulb warning on some LED conversions; tell us the market and we will flag known cases.

Should I stock LED or halogen for my market?

For fleet, insurance and value buyers the halogen line at $42 per pair is easier to sell and easier to warranty. For retail, styling and Gulf/Southeast Asian accessory customers the LED line at $78 per pair carries more margin and the DRL look customers ask for. Most distributors carry both from the first order because the MOQ is only 20 pairs each.

Do you have E-MARK approval for the D-Max headlights?

E-MARK E4 and E11 approvals cover selected lamp families, and the scope is supplied per SKU before an order — certificate copy plus the lens-marking photo. LED and halogen variants are separate approvals, so confirm the exact SKU rather than the product family. E-MARK is European type approval; it is not FMVSS 108 for US road use and not a Gulf SABER certificate.

What is the MOQ and lead time for D-Max headlights?

The MOQ is 20 pairs per SKU for stock headlights, which is 20 foam-lined cartons. Stock lead time is 7–15 days after order confirmation. Painted or colour-matched items take 15–30 days because of paint batch scheduling, and a new-model development item takes longer — we confirm the exact window on the quotation.

Can you supply right-hand-drive and left-hand-drive markets?

Yes. Headlamps are handed and the beam pattern differs between LHD and RHD markets, so tell us the destination country when you inquire. We quote the correct side and mark the cartons LH/RH so your warehouse cannot mix them. If you buy for both LHD and RHD markets, we can label the cartons by market to keep the pick clean.
