Pickup Body Parts Export — From Jiangsu to Your Warehouse

Exporting pickup body parts is a document and packing problem before it is a product problem. We ship from Shanghai and Ningbo by LCL, mixed 20ft or 40HQ, quote FOB/CIF/DDP side by side, and prepare the certificates and packing evidence your market asks for.

Shipping modes

LCL, FCL or DDP: which export mode fits

LCL is the low-commitment route: your cartons share a container with other shippers, you pay per CBM, and a first order can start at about 3 CBM. It is slower and carries destination CFS fees, but it lets a distributor test a market without filling a container. FCL — a dedicated 20ft or 40HQ — is cheaper per unit once your volume justifies it and keeps the cargo sealed from loading to unloading.

DDP is the simplest door-to-door option: we arrange freight, duty and delivery to your address, so the number you approve is the number you pay at landing. It is most useful for a first order in a new market where destination charges are unpredictable; experienced importers with their own broker often prefer FOB.

  • LCL consolidation available from our warehouse in Changzhou
  • Mixed 20ft with 6–10 SKUs is the most common first shipment
  • DDP lanes exist for most Gulf, African, Latin American and Southeast Asian destinations
  • FOB quoted alongside every DDP quote so you can compare with your own broker
Export mode comparison
Mode Typical volume Cost structure Best for
LCL 3–15 CBM Per CBM plus destination CFS fees First trial orders, slow movers
FCL 20ft ~26–28 usable CBM Flat container rate 6–10 SKUs at distributor quantities
FCL 40HQ ~62–66 usable CBM Flat container rate, lower per CBM Kits, bumpers, panels and repeat stock
DDP LCL or FCL Landed all-in price to your door New markets, e-commerce sellers, small teams

Paperwork

Documents by market — and what we supply

Every shipment leaves with a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and a CCPIT certificate of origin; product test reports and data sheets travel with the conformity file. What changes by market is the conformity scheme: Saudi Arabia commonly requires SABER Product and Shipment Certificates, several African markets require pre-shipment inspection (PVoC/SONCAP-type) or a cargo tracking note, and Brazil applies INMETRO programmes to selected automotive categories.

The factory supplies the technical file that these schemes need — test reports, product data, photos, HS codes and factory certificates. The certificate itself is raised by the approved body in the destination country, usually in the importer’s name. Requirements change and are product-specific; confirm the current scheme with your broker before production starts, not after the vessel books.

Common requirements by region (planning guide)
Region Commonly requested We provide
Saudi Arabia / Gulf SABER PC + SC, legalised CO, Arabic labeling Technical file, CCPIT CO, label printing
Africa PVoC/SONCAP-type inspection, CTN/BESC, CO Inspection support, test reports, CO
South America CO, Spanish/Portuguese docs, INMETRO scope check Documents in language, product data
Southeast Asia CO, TISI/SNI scope where applicable Test reports, product data, HS codes
North America HTS classification, FMVSS 108 for road lighting Material specs, photometric reports, HS codes
CIS EAC conformity where applicable, Russian docs Technical file, Russian documentation

Start the paperwork during production

The most common cause of a stalled shipment is a conformity inspection booked after production. Book it while the goods are being made, and tell us about cargo tracking notes before the bill of lading is issued — they cannot always be added afterwards.

Export packing

Packing that survives the last mile

Export packing is where a cheap freight quote becomes an expensive claim. Lamps are foam-lined and never stacked more than two cartons high; bumpers and kits go on the container floor; steel panels are interleaved and corner-protected; hardware is bagged and taped inside the carton. Every carton carries SKU, description, quantity, LH/RH and the destination market.

We photograph the empty container, half-loaded container and sealed doors for every shipment. If a carton arrives crushed, those photos plus the packing list are the difference between a documented claim and a write-off.

  • Palletising available on request (adds 1–2 CBM of height, cuts unloading damage)
  • Carton numbering sequential and unique per shipment
  • Loading report with container number, seal number, carton count and CBM
  • Packing list built from measured carton dimensions, not nominal volumes
Packed volume and weight by family (estimates)
Family Packing CBM per unit Weight per unit
Headlamp pair 1 pair per foam carton 0.09–0.12 5.8–6.8 kg
Tail lamp pair 1 pair per foam carton 0.06–0.09 3.4–4.9 kg
Door mirror pair 1 pair per foam carton 0.05–0.08 3.2–4.1 kg
Front bumper 1 pc per reinforced carton 0.12–0.20 9–12 kg
Steel fender 1 pc per carton 0.08–0.12 7–9 kg
Body kit set 1 set per double-wall carton 0.45–0.60 14–16 kg

Lanes

Ports and transit times by market

We ship from Shanghai and Ningbo, or by rail via Khorgos and Alashankou for Central Asia and Russia. Transit times below are planning estimates from past shipments and exclude customs clearance; your forwarder confirms the actual routing, cut-offs and fees for the booking.

The fastest lanes are Southeast Asia (7–12 days to Laem Chabang) and the Pacific (16–24 days to Los Angeles). The Gulf sits at 22–32 days depending on port, Africa 22–40 days, and South America 30–45 days. For distributors, the practical planning number is production lead time plus transit plus a two-week clearance buffer.

Indicative export lanes (transit estimates)
Destination Port / gateway Transit (est.) Notes
Southeast Asia Laem Chabang, Port Klang, Singapore 7–14 days RHD fitments; short restock cycles
Gulf Jebel Ali, Dammam, Hamad 22–32 days SABER documentation for Saudi
Africa Mombasa, Durban, Lagos, Alexandria 22–40 days PVoC/scheme inspection; CTN where required
South America Santos, Callao, Cartagena 30–45 days Spanish/Portuguese documents
North America Los Angeles, Vancouver, Savannah 16–38 days HTS and FMVSS 108 checks
CIS / Central Asia Khorgos rail, Almaty, Moscow 12–28 days Russian documentation; EAC scope

How it runs

An export order, step by step

The sequence is predictable once the inputs are right. We confirm fitment, quote FOB/CIF/DDP, issue a proforma invoice, approve samples or photos, produce, run QC, load the container, then send documents or telex release. Each step has an owner and a document — the delays happen when a step is skipped or a document is started late.

  • Conformity inspection booked during production, not after
  • Cargo tracking note reference confirmed before the bill of lading
  • Documents sent by courier or telex release arranged with the forwarder
  • Insurance under CIF or your own policy — check the claim window before signing
Export order timeline (estimates)
Step Typical duration Output
Fitment + quotation 1–3 days Quotation with price, lead time, packing
Proforma invoice + deposit 1–3 days PI signed, 30% deposit received
Sample approval / production 7–25 days Approved sample or photos, production complete
QC + loading 1–3 days QC photo pack, loading photos, packing list
Booking + documents 2–5 days Bill of lading, CO, conformity file
Ocean / rail transit 7–45 days Arrival at destination port
Clearance + delivery 3–14 days Goods at your warehouse

Cost efficiency

Freight economics that protect the margin

Freight per unit is a function of CBM and value density. Lamps are dense in value and low in volume, so they ship efficiently; body kits and bumpers are the opposite, and that is why they are used to anchor a container rather than fill it with air. A mix of roughly 50–60% volume in kits, bumpers and panels, with 40–50% in lamps, mirrors and accessories, usually produces the best freight-per-value ratio.

After the first shipment, track two numbers: landed cost per SKU and fill rate of each container. When a SKU consistently fills a pallet a month, move it to a dedicated replenishment cycle; when a container runs below about 80% fill, add an accessory or two rather than paying for air.

  • Plan for 85–90% of usable CBM, not 100%
  • Compare landed cost per SKU, not ocean freight per container
  • Use LCL for trials and slow movers; FCL for proven fast movers
  • Ask for FOB, CIF and DDP on the same quotation to see the real spread

Export-ready pickup parts

A cross-platform sample: lamps, mirrors, flares, tail lamps and a styling kit, all packed for export and shipped under one document set.

Transit times, freight ranges and packing volumes on this page are planning estimates, not quotations. Conformity and customs requirements are country- and product-specific and change — confirm them with your customs broker or freight forwarder before booking production.

Questions

pickup body parts export — FAQ

The questions buyers ask before ordering. If yours is not here, send it with the part list — you get a named contact, a quote and the certificate scope, not a form letter.

What is the smallest export order you can ship?

About 3 CBM LCL is workable for a first trial — for example 40 pairs of lamps, 20 mirrors and a few styling sets. We will tell you honestly if the freight per CBM makes the order uneconomic and suggest a better mix. Once a SKU proves itself, a mixed 20ft or a 40HQ lowers the landed cost per unit substantially.

Do you ship DDP to my country?

DDP is available for most Gulf, African, Latin American and Southeast Asian destinations where our forwarder has a lane. The DDP quote includes freight, duty and destination delivery; it is confirmed against the exact HS codes and destination address before booking. Many experienced importers still prefer FOB with their own broker — we quote both so you can compare.

Which documents come with a pickup body parts export shipment?

Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, CCPIT certificate of origin, plus product test reports and data sheets for the conformity file. Additional documents — SABER support, PVoC inspection, cargo tracking notes, legalised CO, Spanish/French/Russian/Arabic documents — are arranged per market and confirmed on the quotation.

How long does export shipping take?

Transit ranges from about 7–14 days to Southeast Asia, 22–32 days to the Gulf, 22–40 days to Africa, 30–45 days to South America and 16–38 days to North America, depending on the port. Add production lead time (7–25 days for most stock items) and a clearance buffer. All transit figures are planning estimates that your forwarder confirms for the booking.

How are the parts packed for export?

Lamps and mirrors ship in foam-lined pair cartons, bumpers and kits in reinforced or double-wall cartons, steel panels interleaved and corner-protected. Cartons carry SKU, description, quantity, LH/RH and destination markings, and the packing list matches the physical carton numbers. We photograph the loading and sealed container for every shipment.

Can you consolidate several suppliers into one container?

We consolidate our own SKUs at our Changzhou warehouse. For third-party cargo, the practical route is to have your other suppliers deliver to a forwarder’s CFS in Shanghai or Ningbo for a joint LCL shipment — tell us before booking so the documents and cut-off dates line up. Combining different factories inside one FCL is possible but needs careful planning on packing lists and export declarations.
