Truck & pickup body parts for Latin American importers

South America is a pickup continent, and the platforms are familiar: Hilux Revo, Ranger T6/T9, D-Max, L200 Triton and Navara. Importers here usually want two things we can give quickly — Spanish-language documents and a landed DDP number so they can quote retail without currency guesswork.

Based on the order patterns we see from distributors in the region. Start with the family that matches your customer base, then add depth once a SKU proves itself.

What a regional distributor typically carries

Not a rule — a starting point we use to build first mixed orders. Adjust to your own workshop and retail mix.

  • LED and smoked tail lamps for Hilux Revo and Ranger T9 — high retail margin items.
  • Body kits, fender flares and roll bars for the off-road styling market.
  • Mirrors and mirror covers for L200 Triton and Ranger, the two best-selling pickup families.
  • Bumpers and steel panels for insurance repair channels and fleet refurbishment.

Logistics snapshot

Getting a container to South America

Transit times are planning estimates from Shanghai/Ningbo (or the rail gateway for CIS) and exclude customs clearance. Your forwarder confirms the actual routing and cut-offs.

Port / gateway Country Transit (est.) Note
Santos Brazil 35–45 days Long clearance; confirm INMETRO scope for lighting.
Callao Peru 30–38 days LHD; Spanish documents essential.
Cartagena / Buenaventura Colombia 30–38 days Two-coast routing; ask for the current lane.
Guayaquil Ecuador 32–40 days Pickup-heavy market; mixed containers work well.
San Antonio / Valparaíso Chile 38–45 days RHD not relevant; LHD only.
Manzanillo / Lázaro Cárdenas Mexico 25–32 days Used as a staging point for Central America.

What importers commonly need

Every requirement below is product- and port-specific, and it changes. Treat this as a list of questions for your broker — not as a promise from us or from the scheme.

Disclaimer

Regulatory notes on this page are a planning aid compiled from common practice, not legal or customs advice. Rules change and are applied differently by port and by product — confirm every requirement with your own customs broker or freight forwarder before you book production.

What we supply

Test reports, product data sheets, product and label photos, HS codes, factory certificates, CCPIT certificate of origin and legalisation support. The conformity certificate itself is raised by the approved body in your country, usually in your name.

Quality & documents
  1. 01

    Brazil — INMETRO scope

Some automotive components, including certain lighting and safety-related items, fall under INMETRO conformity assessment programmes. The listing and requirements change by product and HS code, so check the current scope with your broker or an INMETRO-accredited body before quoting retail. We supply product data sheets and test reports for the assessment.

  2. 02

    Import licences & registration

Several markets use import licence or registration systems that are updated often (Brazil, Argentina, Colombia). The importer must hold the licence; we provide proforma invoice, HS codes and technical data so you can apply before production. Confirm current rules with your broker.

  3. 03

    Spanish / Portuguese documentation

Commercial invoice and packing list in Spanish (Portuguese for Brazil) are standard with our South America shipments. Carton markings can be dual-language so the same box works in Peru, Colombia and Chile.

  4. 04

    Certificate of origin

CCPIT certificate of origin for customs; some importers also request consular legalisation. We can legalise on request, adding 3–7 working days before dispatch.

Questions

South America import FAQ

The questions we get most often from buyers in this region. If yours is not here, ask it directly — you will get a named contact, not a form letter.

Do you ship DDP to Brazil?

We can quote DDP to Santos and some inland destinations where our forwarder has a lane. Brazilian import taxes are high and change; the DDP quote is indicative until the exact HS codes and the importer’s tax regime are confirmed. Many Brazilian buyers prefer FOB/CIF plus their own broker — both are fine.

Can you supply Spanish labels for retail?

Yes. Provide the label artwork or let us typeset it; we print Spanish/Portuguese retail labels and carton markings in-house. Packaging design and logo work is part of the one-stop service.

What sells fastest for the styling market?

Smoked LED tail lamps, sequential-indicator mirror covers, fender flares and body kits for Hilux Revo, Ranger T9 and L200. MOQ on styling kits is 10 sets; on lamps 20 pairs. We can mix them in one container.
